Pre-visit meeting

We would encourage organisers to come to the farm before the school trip so that they can get to know the layout and get the most out of the day. It is a good opportunity to talk about the needs of you group.

Classroom

We have a dedicated classroom space for your use throughout your visit thanks to The Melplash Agricultural Society and Dorset County Council. We only book one visit per day, a farm tour and animal feeding in the morning session. During lunch you are very welcome to make use of the play area and lawn, this time will need to be supervised by your staff.  The afternoon activity / activities can be discussed and agreed to suit the needs of your group and led by Discover Farming.

Costs

Visits will continue to be FREE for schools within a 12-mile radious of Melplash village Church.  Schools outside this area will be charged £100 for a full day.

Cost includes: welcome, farm tour, snack (fruit and water for children, tea or coffee for the adults), animal feed. Use of the facilities for the day and a tailored afternoon activity led by Discover Farming.
