This year at the annual Melplash Agricultural Show, the Discover Farming team is inviting young visitors to the marquee to help them to understand and explore “How the Countryside Works”
The aim being to:
- inspire the next generation to pursue a career in agriculture and the countryside, understand the importance of healthy soil for farming and learn where their food comes.
- demonstrate how nutritious food is the basis of good health now and in the future
- Encourage young people to appreciate the importance of green spaces for their health and wellbeing
- Promote an understanding of the balance and harmony needed between a healthy countryside and sustainable modern farming
There will be a whole host of FREE activities to enjoy and to help identify and increase the understanding of what the ingredients, processes and products are behind everyday food.

All children under 16 years can attend the Melplash Show for FREE. Adult tickets in advance are £23.50 or on the gate £25 card only.
