Since 2007 the Melplash Agricultural Society has offered grants to local students aged 16 years and over. The Scholarship Scheme was established to help West Dorset based students who wish to further their education in the field of agriculture, horticultural and related subject areas. Students who live within a 12 mile radius of Melplash village church who are about to embark or are already studying agriculture, forestry, horticulture or any closely allied topic could be eligible for a financial scholarship. Financial support will be extended throughout the successful student’s course, if he/she receives a satisfactory annual report from his/her college or university. Applications are accepted from September to end of June.
