The Melplash Show celebrates rural life by the sea in West Dorset with farming, horticultural and homecraft, regional food and drink, shopping and an eclectic mix of breathtaking entertainment.

Watch local farmers and their handlers showing their finest livestock – cattle, sheep, goats and pigs –being put through their paces by the judges; view beautiful blooms and admire the mind-blowing specimens of vegetables in the Horticulture and Floral Arts competition marquees. Sample delicious regional food and drink in the Food Hall and enjoy a wide and varied selection of street food around the Showground. Take a seat in the Moores Cookery Theatre and embrace the work of local top chefs: Mark Hix, Chiara Tomasoni from River Cottage, Andy Tyrell from Soulshine and Jamie Pimbley from the West Bay Hotel, wine tasting with Mark Banham from Furleigh Estate and cocktail making with David Smith from Mercato Italiano.
See spectacular entertainment in the Bradford’s main ring including Jamie Squibb and his Free Style Motocross team performing breath-taking jumps and mid-air stunts and the Shetland Pony Grand National a team of young riders on their Shetland ponies racing against each other! Immerse yourself in the popular Kitson & Trotman Countryside Area with its full timetable of country pursuits including falconry, ferret and terrier racing, and demonstrations of traditional rural crafts.
For the younger generation there is plenty to see and do to keep them entertained. As well as getting up close to farm animals and farm machinery, enjoying the entertainment in the main ring, the countryside area and the fun fair, there is a dedicated Discover Farming area where there are lots of free hands-on activities to get them thinking about where their food comes from.
