The Melplash Agricultural Society Scholarship is available to help students 16 years and over who live within a 12-mile radius of Melplash Village Church, who are passionate about farming and agriculture and are looking to further their studies in this area. The Melplash Agricultural Society’s scholarship is available, up to £3000 per annum, to help assist with their education costs. In 2024, £36000 was awarded to 18 students!
Whether they are considering studying for a Diploma in Agriculture or working on an apprenticeship scheme, there are many courses available to meet their needs. This could be at Kingston Maurward College, Bicton College, Bridgwater & Taunton College , Sparsholt College, The Royal Agricultural or Hartpury University.
They may be seeking to achieve a degree in dairy, agronomy, plant or animal reproduction at a university somewhere in the country. Or they may want to become a veterinary surgeon, or a veterinary nurse and have spotted the course for them.
Alternatively, they may be thinking about working overseas to widen their agricultural experience. The Society’s Travel bursary may be able to help them get there.

The successful applicants will receive their scholarship at the Melplash Agricultural Show on Thursday 21 August 2025.
